Journal Of Basic and Applied Science

Libyan Authorty Of Scientific Research

Journal Publication Policy

The Journal of basic and applied science, issued by the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research, is a peer-reviewed, semi-annual scientific journal that focuses on publishing research in the fields of basic and applied sciences. The journal accepts submissions from researchers in all universities and research centers in Libya and the Arab world.

Open Access Policy

The Journal of basic and applied science adopts an open access policy, providing an environment that allows researchers and readers unrestricted and free access to all published research. This policy aims to promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge, facilitate information exchange, and enable researchers to review and build upon previous studies in their own work. All articles published in the journal are freely available online without the need for subscription or registration, thereby enhancing transparency and openness in scientific research, and contributing to the improvement of research quality and the expansion of its academic and societal impact.

Peer Review Policy

The Journal of basic and applied science follows a double-blind peer review system, where the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure maximum integrity and objectivity.

Submissions that pass the initial screening are sent to reviewers selected based on their academic expertise and qualifications. The manuscripts are evaluated based on originality, scientific methodology, significance of the results, and clarity of academic presentation. The journal reserves the right to accept, revise, or reject submissions based on reviewer reports.

The journal is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of the review process and respecting authors’ rights to respond to reviewer comments.

Copyright Policy

The Journal of basic and applied science is committed to protecting the intellectual property rights of authors and ensuring the integrity of published scientific content by adhering to internationally recognized academic publishing standards. Authors retain full intellectual rights upon publication, while granting the journal first publication rights under a license that allows content reuse with clear citation of the original source.

  • The journal encourages the open and free use of published research for scientific and academic purposes, in accordance with applicable copyright laws.
  • The journal requires that submitted manuscripts be original and not previously published or under consideration elsewhere. Authors must provide a declaration confirming the originality of the work and that it does not violate any copyright or citation rules, in adherence to publishing ethics and to prevent plagiarism.

  • This policy is applied in line with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines to ensure a trustworthy academic publishing environment.

    Authorship and Self-Archiving Policy

The journal adheres to clear criteria for authorship eligibility. Each author must have made a substantial contribution to one or more stages of the research process, such as study design, data collection, result analysis, or drafting the manuscript. All authors must approve the final submitted version and assume full responsibility for the accuracy of the content. Honorary authorship is not permitted, and the order of authors must be agreed upon collectively.

The Journal of basic and applied science adopts an open access policy and supports authors’ rights to make their research openly available. Authors are permitted to archive the accepted version of their manuscript (Postprint) – the version after peer review – in any digital repository, provided the original source is clearly cited, including the full citation and DOI link.

The journal also permits authors to archive the published version (Publisher’s PDF) immediately after publication, provided no modifications are made to the original content and the integrity of the text and references is maintained.

    Plagiarism and Retraction Policy

The Journal of basic and applied science strictly adheres to academic publishing ethics and follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure integrity in all stages of publication.

  • Plagiarism
  • All forms of plagiarism, including direct copying without citation or reusing ideas, data, tables, or images without permission or proper attribution, are considered serious violations of research ethics. The journal uses specialized software to detect plagiarism prior to peer review.

If partial or full plagiarism is detected, the journal reserves the right to reject the manuscript or retract it after publication, and may notify the author’s affiliated academic institution.

  • Retraction of Publication
  • The journal may retract any published article under the following circumstances:

    - Proven cases of plagiarism, data falsification, or misleading results.

    - Presence of critical errors that affect the validity of the research.

    - Verified violations of intellectual property rights.

Retraction is carried out by issuing an official retraction notice explaining the reasons for withdrawal. The original article remains accessible with a clear indication that it has been retracted. This measure ensures the reliability and transparency of the academic record.

    Conflict of Interest Policy

The Journal of basic and applied science values transparency and integrity in scientific publishing and requires all parties involved – authors, reviewers, and editors – to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the objectivity of the research or editorial decisions.

The journal is committed to maintaining data confidentiality and adhering to the highest ethical standards when handling disclosures. Appropriate action will be taken if an undisclosed conflict of interest is identified.

    Data Sharing Policy

The Journal of basic and applied science supports openness and transparency in scientific research and encourages authors to make the data supporting their findings accessible for verification, reuse, and scientific advancement.

Authors are required to provide a clear description of how to access the data supporting the results presented in the article (e.g., data tables, raw datasets, or analysis code).

If data sharing is not possible due to legal, privacy, or confidentiality reasons, the authors must clearly explain the reason in a separate section of the article.

When sharing data related to individuals or institutions, authors must ensure that all identifiable information is removed and that full confidentiality and ethical standards are upheld, especially in qualitative or medical research.
